This month, we are proud to honor one of our dear patients and an incredible community leader – Dr. DeeAnn Powell, the retiring Superintendent of Pasadena Independent School District.
Dr. Powell began her career as a history teacher and steadily rose through the ranks to make history herself as the first Pasadena ISD graduate and first female to serve as Superintendent. Over her remarkable tenure, Dr. Powell’s leadership has led to numerous district-wide achievements, including full-day pre-K expansion, award-winning dual language and career readiness programs, and nationally recognized personalized learning.
Her impact goes far beyond academics. Under her guidance, Pasadena ISD has earned consistent honors in the arts, financial excellence, and community service – including being named a Professional Learning Community Model School District and earning top credit ratings and financial integrity scores.
We are grateful to have had the privilege of caring for Dr. Powell’s smile, and we join the community in celebrating her extraordinary career and well-earned retirement.
